A business address fails for boring reasons. Usually the name does not match the system, or the desk closed at three. This post covers what each destination needs, and where the building sets the rules rather than us.

What do I put in the delivery notes for a business address?

Put the recipient's name exactly as the building records it, plus the floor, suite, or room. Add anything the courier should say at the door. Add your own phone number too, so we call you rather than the recipient if something needs sorting.

That last point matters more than people expect. A surprise stops being one the moment we phone the recipient to ask which entrance to use.

How do I send flowers to an office in Los Angeles?

Send it to the company name, the floor or suite, and the recipient's name. Expect reception to take it in, not the recipient. Office deliveries run on the building's clock, not the tenant's.

Los Angeles towers publish their own receiving hours, and they are narrower than the working day. The loading dock at 10100 Santa Monica Boulevard in Century City, for one, is staffed Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm. Aim for the middle of a working day and avoid Friday afternoons entirely.

Use the guest's name exactly as the reservation reads. Add the hotel name and street address, and the check-in and check-out dates. The front desk or the concierge signs for it and holds it for the guest.

Front desks search a reservation system. A guest booked as Katherine will not be found under Kate. Couriers are rarely allowed upstairs, so the hand-off happens in the lobby.

How do I send flowers to a funeral home?

Give the family or service name, the address, and the time the service begins. We deliver before it starts. Funeral homes receive on a fixed clock, and there is no second chance once a service is under way.

Where the flowers go afterwards is set by the memorial park, not the florist. Forest Lawn Memorial Parks limits graveside placements to three per space and removes funeral flowers on the third day following interment. Ask the family or the funeral director which address they want the arrangement sent to.

Yes, with one caveat that catches people out: individual units restrict fresh flowers, intensive care most consistently. The hospital, not the florist, decides whether an arrangement reaches the room.

When should flowers arrive at a business address?

Mid-morning to mid-afternoon, Monday through Saturday, while somebody is at the desk. Deliveries run in two windows, 10 AM to 1 PM and 1 to 5 PM. Same-day orders arrive in the guaranteed 1 to 5 PM window.

Order before our 11 AM cutoff for same-day, or pick a date at checkout for anything you cannot miss. In six years I have learned to aim for the hour after the lunch rush. Somebody is back at the front, and the day has not started closing down.
